ACT to be Held Tomorrow

ACT to be Held Tomorrow

Niles West will host the ACT tomorrow morning, Saturday, Feb. 6 at 8 a.m.

Students are to arrive through the auditorium entrance between 7:30-7:45 a.m.. Students should get there on time, as testing coordinator Mary Nolan-Bridges will be there at 7:45 to give out testing room assignments.

“Students should arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 to the auditorium entrance. I will come to the auditorium entrance at 7:45 to accompany students to their testing rooms. They will receive their testing room assignments that morning at the auditorium entrance. The rooms are assigned according to the first letter of the student’s last name. Please be sure that you arrive on time as testing begins promptly,” Nolan-Bridges said.

Students are required to bring the proper materials for testing.

“Students must bring a printed copy of their admission ticket (which they print off of the ACT website), a current photo ID (a current school ID is fine), two #2 pencils and a calculator. Students will not be able to test without without their printed admission ticket and a current photo ID. Both are needed in order to test. Please remember that the admission ticket must be printed, as it must be returned to ACT,” Nolan-Bridges said.

Nolan-Bridges recommends trying to relax, having a nutritious breakfast, and getting a good night’s sleep before the test.

“I recommend that students get a good night’s sleep and have a nutritious breakfast. They should also try to relax,” she said. “Regarding the test, students need to pay attention to the instructions before the exam. It’s important that everyone adhere to the rules of the test. We all want things to run smoothly so everyone can do their best on the test.”

Many students are nervous for the upcoming test seeing this will be the first time they take the standardized test.

Junior Alen Radelijic said, “I’m nervous about the test tomorrow, it’s my first time taking it and I’m curious to see really how hard the ACT actually is.”
