2017 Oscar Predictions Best Actor and Picture Nominations

2017+Oscar+Predictions+Best+Actor+and+Picture+Nominations

The season kicked off with the Golden Globes in early January, and less than two weeks ago, the young SAG Awards were a hot topic of discussion. More than “who wore what” as the center of conversation, in this year’s awards, more people are talking about “who said what,” with several actors using their speeches to voice political reactions towards President Trump’s then-two-days old executive order banning travelers from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.

The Visa ban has already affected The Academy Awards – the most prestigious award ceremony in film – by blocking the Iranian director Asghar Farhadi from attending. Farhadi’s film The Salesman is nominated for the best foreign film award.

The Academy Awards will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday, Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m. The much-anticipated annual event comes amid a politically-charged awards season.

David Harbour from Stranger Things delivered a now-viral speech directed at the Trump administration, which got a standing ovation from the actors attending the show. It’s not unusual for actors to take the speech as an opportunity to raise awareness for specific charities, movements, and other causes; however, the subtle incorporation of the Trump Administration and Meryl Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes were just intros to the SAG Awards and possibly the Oscars.

While we await the the show, the anticipation to see which left-sided celebrity burns Trump the hardest might be high, but there’s still the anticipation of which nominees will win for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Here are the nominations and the winning predictions (bolded):
