How To Survive The End Of Senior Year

How To Survive The End Of Senior Year

With senior year coming to an end, I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life and explore and experience new things. However, I never realized how much Niles West has taught me, and how the normal high school experience molded me into the person I am today. Everyone has some transformation, whether it’s physical changes or identity changes. With only a few more months left, I hope to finish it off strong by following these three rules.

1. Don’t catch senioritis, and focus on finishing school strong. Being a second semester senior, it’s so hard focusing on school now since most of us are already committed to a college. Senioritis has hit most of us, making us “sleep eat and repeat” after school every day. The weather is getting warmer (sort of) and big events are coming up, but we should try to make it our goal to finish our whole high school experience with good grades. You won’t get a chance like this again because in college everything changes.

2. Try something new. Whether it’s a new club or using the facilities at Niles West more often, soaking up our last months at Niles West can keep us occupied and prevent us from the dangers of senioritis. It’s our last year to make connections here, so might as well do something a little different from the last three years.

3. Make memories and enjoy it while it lasts. While May 28 is approaching, the senior calendar is packed with events to enjoy the last few months together. Having prom and graduation coming before we know it, we should make the most of it by keeping it forever in our hearts and taking pictures for memories. For some people, this may be the last they see Niles West and their class. Everyone talks about experiencing the whole college life, well why not experiencing the whole high school life?

There’s so much to do in so little time, but we can all still make it last while we can.
