“Straight Outta Compton” Review

Straight+Outta+Compton+Review

After bringing in an accumulated 60 million in the first weekend of it airing, ‘Straight Outta Compton’ was rated the number one movie in the world.
A movie that seemed as if it would take us back in time to the rough streets of Compton proved to have done much more than that.
The hip-hop icons N.W.A.’s controversial 1988 song “F–k tha Police” seemed to have been timeless in a society where the abuse of black Americans is a common headline in the news. It’s no secret that law enforcement officials continue to abuse their authority and harass the black community of America.
O’Shea Jackson, a.k.a., Ice cube, producer of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ took us back to a place where we thought the ignorance and brutality would stop, but sadly in 2015, minorities such a black Americans still suffer from the hatred that traces back to over 300 years.
Seeing a film filled with so much emotion and pain really makes people think about the problems we suffer in today’s society. Straight Outta Compton is a must see film; you endure the heartbreak, the love and the hate all at once as if you were apart of N.W.A.
I would highly recommend watching this movie and I would give it a 5 star rating. The actors and actresses of this movie really make you feel something, maybe anger, hate, love or peace. But I think the best thing about this movie is everyone felt something.
‘Straight Outta Compton’ will continue to represent and publicize the true meaning of white privilege and black disadvantage.
